How to Read kg/m Tables in a Steel Catalog
The kg/m column is theoretical weight per one meter of length for that size. Match the profile standard (IPE, UPN, L, etc.), open the size row, then multiply kg/m by your bar length and quantity.

Reading the table
- Confirm profile family. IPE, HEA, UPN, L, etc. — names encode the standard.
- Match designation. Size number (e.g. IPE 200) must match your drawing.
- Read kg/m column. Value is per meter, not per piece.
- Extend to total. kg/m × length × qty; add waste per site rules.
